Macahel is a historical geographical area and long valley along the river Machakhlistskal between Turkey and Georgia. The area is in Borçka district of Artvin Province and surrounded by Karcal Mountains Untouched green forests with 1 to 5 years old years old trees makes this valley remarkable and one of the purest forests in ecological manner.
The area is famous for the intensive practices of beekeeping and the high quality of honey produced by Caucasian bee. Camili Village was the first area in Turkey that was included in UNESCO’s ‘Human and Biosphere Reserve Project’.
